The RSMSSB Stenographer exam involves two phases. Both the phases of the RSMSSB Stenographer exam are discussed below.
RSMSSB Stenographer Exam Phase 1
The first phase is a written test with objective-type questions. There will be two papers in Phase I based on General Knowledge and everyday science knowledge. The paper is of 100 marks with 150 questions. The duration of the paper is 3 hours.

RSMSSB Stenographer Exam Phase 2
The second phase of the RSMSSB Stenographer exam comprises a stenography or typing test. It aims to test the typing capacity of the candidates with maximum speed.
Part 1 of the exam evaluates the shorthand typing & computer typing skills in English whereas Part 2 tests the same thing in Hindi. The duration of the paper is 3 hours.
